ELDERLY residents of a care home had a party to celebrate Valentine's Day.

A total of 53 residents at The ExtraCare Charitable Trust's Seagrave Court in Strelley attended the event.

Everyone who attended was also given a red rose.

Activity co-ordinator PJ Spilsbury organised the celebrations.

"I just want everyone here to feel special," she said. "I had my volunteers working on the roses as well, which we made ourselves.

"We bought some flowers and they spent a long time wrapping them in red foil."

The party was a double celebration as it was also resident Kay Geoffrey's 92nd birthday.
