VIDEO: Milking - the new student craze hits Nottingham
It's the latest student craze sweeping across the country.
And now 'milking' - where students soak themselves with a four-pint bottle of milk in public - has come to Nottingham.
Students from Nottingham Trent University's student television station Trent TV filmed themselves being milked in public across the city.
At each spot, students emptied a whole bottle of milk over their heads, soaking themselves and the area around them.

One student is filmed standing at a city bus stop - but fails even to raise a smile from those standing in the queue behind him.
Another 'milks' himself at a tram stop, while yet another is soaked while eating a tray of chips.
The craze started in Newcastle and has since spread to higher education institutions across the county, including Oxford University.
Critics of milking have accused fans of wasting money and milk, and also of making a mess.

“I see that students in Durham have now copied the Trent students but using Port instead of milk. It must presumably be possible for the authorities to find these people from the videos and then take any appropriate action.

“And as deliberately polluting a water course is a criminal offence you can bet your shirt that NCC and many others will be looking for ways to milk it for fines by trying to make it a civil offence.”

“Well "jgray" having seen the clothing being worn by the Nottingham Trent students walking along Goldsmith Street during the pfreezing weather it appears common sense isn't universal amongst students.”

“"And if it makes one person smile and cheers them up - then im sure its all worth it."
Watching drug dealers and habitual criminals be executed in Slab Square would make many people smile but it isn't going to happen so why should these students get away with it ?”

“We don't wear sandals, berton. It's too cold out for that. We of this generation have this thing, see, which tells us what kind of footwear we should wear in different seasons.
It's called common sense. :)”

“In some countries, students set themselves on fire. In Britain, they "POUR" milk over themselves at bus stops.
This is student / political activism in its purest form and long may it continue. Viva la revolution!!!”

“All these comments really do make me laugh...
Live and let live. Im sure the farmers are happy that sales of full fat milk are up. And if it makes one person smile and cheers them up - then im sure its all worth it.”
