THE Money return to This Is Live, two-and-a-half years on, with a fresh feel to their melodic indie-rock. Stav, Jake, Scott and PK are back to chat with Zoe Kirk on the Stealth sofa, about how their music has progressed and gig highlights that included a season in a Greek holiday resort.

And you are?

Paul "Stav" Mylonas, 30 (vocals, rhythm guitar), Jake Buckley, 27 (lead guitar, backing vocals), Scott Barnes, 27 (bass, backing vocals), Paul 'PK' King, 21 (drums, backing vocals).

Which part of Nottingham are you all from?

Stav's from West Bridgford, Jake's from Mapperley, PK's from Nuthall and Scott's from Sneinton.

History?

A long, long time ago we were collected from a few Nottingham bands that are no longer with us. The Money have developed a lot over the last three years, we've done a lot of hard work, tried a lot of different things, that you can definitely hear in the new EP, Sparks.

What's with the band name?

It comes from the film Swingers: "You're the money baby!"

Describe your music and influences.

It's all melodies and hooks played by four amazing rock musicians. Massive vocal harmonies. You get a lot for your money, you'd be amazed what we can fit in three minutes 30!

What are the day jobs?

This I what we do, this is everything to us, we are very lucky to be able to say that we make a living out of our music. I think that's what keeps us working hard and determined.

Claims to fame?

We are friends with the best George Michael impersonator in the world!

Which other Notts bands do you rate?

There are so many at the moment. Obviously it's great to see Liam Bailey doing so well. We all love a bit of Captain Dangerous, Gallery 47, Natalie Duncan, Atticus Anthem, Freaky River Styx and Chris Reeve Esq.

Next gig?

Fingers crossed we'll be on the main stage at Rock City this month.

Music for sale?

You can buy our current EP, Sparks, on iTunes.
