This is Nottingham

CHRIS Olley, the former frontman of Six.By Seven, one of Nottingham's biggest hopes in recent years, is next to perform live and chat to Zoe Kirk on this week's video showcase. It's taken Chris some time to move on from the disappointment of Six.By Seven disbanding, an outfit who enjoyed five John Peel sessions on BBC Radio 1, a performance on Later With Jools Holland, playing Glastonbury and selling over 80,000 records.

Watch Chris chatting to Zoe on the Stealth sofa and performing his new song, None of This Matters:

History?

I was born in Aldershot and I used to be in Six.By Seven.

Describe your music and influences.

Acoustic guitar songs influenced by people who play acoustic guitar songs.

What are the day jobs?

Emptying the dishwasher, hoovering the front room and plucking my eyebrows.

Claims to fame?

I once hitch-hiked from Nottingham to Italy in only two lifts and Bill Hicks once told me that I made him look like Randy Bachman.

Which other Notts bands do you rate?

What, after Paper Lace and Ten Years After?

Next gig?

Glastonbury.

Music for sale?

My album, A Streetcar Named Disaster and my EP East of Edale.
