Urinating in busy roads puts years on Asbo for offender, 57
A MAN coming to the end of a two-year antisocial behaviour order has had it extended after urinating in the middle of footpaths and busy roads.
David Myrie, 57, of Ashwell Gardens, Hyson Green, was originally made the subject of an Asbo in 2010 banning him from being in possession of an open vessel containing alcohol in the Hyson Green area, after complaints from residents and businesses in the area.
Richard Antcliff, head of neighbourhood enforcement for police and council partnership at Community Protection, said: "The previous order in place had been effective in curbing Myrie's behaviour. However, in the past seven months and leading up to the end of his Asbo, Myrie had numerous complaints to the police about his behaviour and drinking. On several occasions, he was witnessed urinating in the middle of a public footpath and on busy roads, in full view of members of public."
Community Protection – a partnership between the city council and Notts Police – successfully brought a case for extending Myrie's Asbo for another two years at Nottingham's Magistrates' Court and Councillor Alex Norris, portfolio holder for community safety, said: "Local residents and businesses deserve the right to a pleasant environment and if the order is breached he will find himself in front of magistrates again."
