Uni working to save endangered foxes

NOTTINGHAM Trent University researchers are looking into how an endangered species of fox could be saved.

Scientists have identified which types of foxes stand the best chance of survival and reproduction when they are introduced into new habitats.

Kit foxes in San Joaquin Valley, California, are on the decline after 95 per cent of their habitat was lost to agricultural, industrial and urban development.

The university's School of Animal, Rural and Environmental Sciences, has found that foxes living in urban habitats may be suited to relocation.
