Tyson agrees new deal at Forest
NATHAN Tyson has ended speculation about his future after signing a new contract at Nottingham Forest.
It had looked like the striker would consider his options in the summer when he could have left the club on a Bosman free transfer after initially stalling on a pre-season offer of a new deal.

But new manager Billy Davies has acted swiftly to agree a new two-and-a-half year deal with the highly-rated striker – who fired a spectacular goal to put the Reds ahead in their impressive FA Cup success at Manchester City on Saturday.
Tyson, who has scored 34 goals for the Reds, admitted it has been a positive period in his Forest career, saying: "It has been an amazing few days.
"Scoring against City and playing a part in such an incredible victory was special and signing a new contract so soon after that makes it even sweeter.
"I'm really enjoying life at Forest. I feel settled and my family are very happy in the area, which is important. We love Nottingham. The decision to stay on the football front was quite easy and made even easier with Billy Davies coming in.
"I think Forest will survive in the Championship and I can see great things happening next season under the new manager."
Davies is delighted to have agreed a new contact with Tyson, who signed from Wycombe just over three years ago in a £675,000 deal.
"The fact that Nathan has decided to make this move is something I'm thoroughly delighted about," he said.
"He's a fantastic young player, has great potential and lots ahead of him and I think it's a great signing for Forest."

“Well said Patrick. H1, London, how many times have you seen Tyson play recently? His pace is back but more importantly so is his strength. Thornhill's goal at Norwich, who were admittedly shocking, was created by Tyson holding a man off down the left wing using speed and strength and delivering the ball to Thornhill on a sixpence. Tyson's contribution to the team is excellent and he takes players away from the other striker(s). He will always pass if there is a better option and anyone who thinks he is an out and out goal scorer is wrong in my opinion. He never gets played properly in the striker role as he always gets balls banged up to him. He needs balls for him to run onto which the Moose would have been perfect for, marshalling the midfield. Because of this his confidence was probably down. Over the last few weeks he looks fit and raring to go. Weak tendons my backside - the guy goes like a greyhound. I think the mere fact that BD has signed him could prove that he intends to play football not hoofball. I would certainly like to see hm in the centre circle for every corner we defend to allow a quick break and to top him getting clattered whilst defending which caused his knee injury in the first place.”

“Mark, Mapperley I think you forgot to add Dr to the front of your name. I'm assuming you must have some medical expertise or inside knowledge to make such a statement?”

“S, I see that you are not so slowly coming round to the Billy way. It takes a big man to see the error of his judgements and to admit his own fooishness. I'm sure you will prove me right.”

“I used to worry about Tyson's consistency as well, funnily enough thats one thing I wont worry about in the future.......BD strikes me as the sort of person who wont mess around if tyson turns out to be a false dawn. I was fuming when we first signed BD, but now I realise that all these players need is a manager who can fill them with the kind of confidence that comes from experience, and BD certainly has that. I dont think I'll ever warm to him fully as a person, but then again, I dont need to.”

“Reality Check please....
A few months back this guy couldn't hit a barn door, however, he then scores a cracker and he's the best thing since sliced bread - well not until he starts to prove his consistency. I have always believed he was slightly over-rated and still do. I realise from the posts on here it won't go down too well - but he still needs to prove himself. He averages a goal every 315 minutes on the pitch, that needs to improve.
At least he his tied down and can be sold if anyone shows interest in him.
I really do hope I'm wrong he rubs my face in it! You Reds!”

“Just for the record, Robert Earnshaw has struggled wiv injuries this season and has only started 17 games and yet still scored 8 goals, that aint bad is it realy. He'll b sharper now, seemed to av put all his injuries behind him and wiv tyson supplyin so well I reakon someones in for a pounding. Lets not 4get Joe Garner, well worth a place in the side. Gr8 to have 3 good strikers we need to keep em happy and in form. Bring back the Moose!!!”

“Moussi's got massive potential, its a shame Frio hasent gave us any other little jewles to snap up this transfer window. We need an old head in there tho, maybe we would be able to get Prutton ? Emile Heskey is wanted by a potential few top 4 clubs, including Villa, who also want Crouch, pushing Harewood further down, Dont want kuchi or however u spell it, hes dont nothing, but i dont agree about Brecks, has he ever played in the prem ? bring back des walker !! I seen him smash one in from 35 yards at halftime a few months ago at a ground i was playing at.”
