Football: A Nottinghamshire football club is hoping to say goodbye to vandalised changing facilities after winning a nationwide competition organised by UK cloud computing company iomart Hosting, which owns a data centre in Nottingham.

Trowell FC has won its first sponsored kit from Host Your Kit, a competition run by iomart Hosting to help youth football teams across the UK who are struggling to raise funds for new kits. Teams had to explain via email or video why they deserved a new kit and the best entries won an adidas strip.

Trowell FC told the judges how the club's players had to change in a portable cabin with no electricity or water and with no proper rooms or a toilet.

The building had been vandalised three times in the last two years and any spare cash the club had was being saved up to buy security fencing to deter any further break-ins.

Winning a new adidas kit for its U14s side – which is worth over £400 – is a huge boost.

Anthony Beaumont, manager of Trowell U14s, said: "Winning this wonderful new kit means we don't have to pay out for a new kit and can use that money instead to hopefully get a lease for the training ground so we can develop it properly."
