KIMBERLEY: A walk along a proposed tram route and a public meeting will be held on Monday.

Broxtowe MP Nick Palmer and Kimberley councillor Richard Robinson have met with local transport chiefs and MEP Glenis Willmott over the proposals.

Dr Palmer and Coun Robinson are backing the residents' campaign for the tram route to extend to Kimberley.

The walk starts at 5pm at the Phoenix Park tram stop in Cinder Hill to the Nelson and Railway pub in Station Road, Kimberley.

The meeting will take place at the pub at 7.30pm.
