POLICE are investigating a collision between a tram and a lorry this afternoon near the Phoenix Park stop in Cinderhill.

One person was taken to hospital after the incident at 2.15pm.

It is believed the white Volvo lorry, driven by a 42-year-old, was dragged about ten metres during the collision.

A spokeswoman for Nottingham Express Transit (Net) confirmed the tram had been damaged and it had since been removed from service.

Other tram services were later hit by delays. The spokeswoman added that Net was also investigating the incident.

Police are appealing for witnesses. Call 0115 967 0999 with any information.
