Tory Leader Kay Cutts celebrates
Tory leader Kay Cutts said: "I feel this is a tremendous relief. It has been a very long day. I am just so proud of all my councillors. They have worked so hard which shows in the results. It is an extremely good day for Notts."
She said taking control after 20 years in opposition was "thrilling."
She said: "People will now have a county council which is run in a business-like manner."
Before the election Coun Cutts pledged that a Tory council would not support the proposed tram extension.
Speaking after today's result she said: "We will not support the tram on lines two and three.
"It is devastating to communities and we cannot afford it. If somebody comes up with a direct route that's affordable, like the line in Hucknall, then we might reconsider but only if they come up with a new plan."

“J thats whats been sadly lacking businesslike efficiency in councils. Why are the best run councils basing there models od businesses. daz hits the nail on the head, astute financial planning and adhering to the plans, if Labour were financially prudent they might not have had to cut so many frontline jobs.”

“"Selfish People who insist on driving their cars to work!"
What an arrogant statement!
Thousands have no choice.
Who wants to walk the mean streets of Nottingham late at night to wait for a bus in a drug addict infested bus station or shelter?
What if buses don't run to your village at the right time of day or night?
What if you need your vehicle for work?
Come on.The Tram is not the answer!”

“J, leics
"Did you here Councillor Cutts today; she is going to run the Council like a "business"!!!!
No matter what political persuasion you are this must strike fear into your heart; Councils are NOT businesses, they provide public services! j, leic"
This just goes to prove what a complete imbacile you are.
Councillor said she would run the council LIKE a business.
The tories will set out a budget and stick to it. LIKE a business that is how it is supposed to work.
You have had the little red book inserted too far up your jacksie to understand simple economics.”

“jimmy, I'm assuming you voted today and I don't need to ask who you voted, because in your usual boring signature, you've told us already.
Anyway, tell us how did the nubnp do where you voted?”
