Thompson wins tankard
JAMIE Thompson's 43 points won him the tankard at the Nottinghamshire Amateur and Professional Golfers' Alliance fixture at Mapperley.
Thompson (Oakmere Park) also won the best individual prize (not in winning teams) beating Mark Juett (Ramsdale Park), who was runner-up on countback, by five points.
Mapperley (Tim Newham 38, Mike Mulhern 38, Martin Millichip 35, Roy Nicholls 31) won the team event with a score of 144 points, beating Bulwell Forest (Barry Hurt 34, Ian Brown 33, Sam Skeldon 38, Clive Judson 31) by eight.
The non-team amateur prize went to Alan Johnsey (Bulwell Forest) with 34 points.
Tim Newham won the professionals/assistants prize with 38 points, two clear of Chris Hall (Rushcliffe) and Richard Reed (Notts), who shared second place.
Robert Smith (Cotgrave Place), Hurt and Martyn Brown (Commanders (OP) shared fourth place with 34 points.
The Bulwell Forest assistants, Callum Northridge and Ian Brown split the assistants award with 33 points.
