Christmas craft, gift and food stalls have set up home in Old Market Square. There's also a 40ft Christmas tree, children’s rides, food and drink and a winter bar. The square has been transformed into a feast of festivities with Christmas trees, garlands, archway entrances and seasonal lighting.
Hello Dolly! at the Nottingham Playhouse, until November 24
Nottingham Operatic Society present this classic musical, which includes well-known songs such as ‘Put on Your Sunday Clothes’, ‘Before the Parade Passes By’ and the show stopping ‘Hello Dolly!’, made famous by Barbra Streisand in the film.

Elizabethan evening, Wollaton Hall, Saturday November 24

Nottingham Youth Orchestra's winter concert, Sunday November 25
Musicians will play pieces including excerpts from Berlioz's Damnation of Faust, Variations on a Nursery Rhyme by Dohnanyi and Tchaikonsky's Marche Slave, all in the grand setting of Nottingham's Albert Hall.
Tickets cost £12 for raised seating, £8 in the arena and concessions are £6.

Christmas lights switch-on, West Bridgford, Saturday November 24
Central Avenue will be the base of celebrations from 9am onwards, with a festive farmers' market, craft fair, walkabout entertainment and children's fairground rides.
Musical entertainment will come from the West Bridgford Social Singers, Bevox Community Choir and the Newhall Brass Band.
Gem 106's Sam and Amy will be hosting seasonal games on stage, leading up to the countdown and firework finale at 5pm.
Saturday Night and Sunday Morning photographic exhibition, Lakeside Arts Centre, until February 10
See photos and stills from the iconic film, mostly shot in and around Nottingham. The exhibition explores the depiction of social changes in contemporary photography, focusing in particular on working-class culture in the late 50s and 60s.
