Huddersfield Town considering bid for Forest striker Joe Garner
BILLY Davies could be ready to reshuffle his Nottingham Forest front-line – with Huddersfield Town preparing a move for Joe Garner.
It is understood that the striker has already been the subject of one failed bid from the Terriers, who are keen to bolster their attacking options.

Joe Garner
And the League One side are believed to be ready to test Forest with a fresh offer.
Garner, 23, arrived at the City Ground from Carlisle for £1.14m in July 2008 with a reputation as a hot prospect. But he has made only 33 league starts for the Reds and 13 substitute appearances, scoring nine goals.
And, in the 14 starts Garner made last season, he mainly played out wide.
But the product of the Blackburn Rovers academy did score two goals, against Blackpool and Scunthorpe, when utilised up front.
And he does have a proven pedigree in the lower divisions, having netted 15 goals in 30 league starts for Carlisle in 2007/08, before he was snapped up by then Forest boss Colin Calderwood.
Huddersfield boss Lee Clark said today: "He is a player we are very aware of but we are aware of lots of players through our scouting network."
Forest are not desperate to offload Garner, who is seen as a useful squad member.
Also, any move could be delayed while Forest ensure their remaining strikers have all returned to pre-season training without any long-term injury problems.
But they could be tempted to do business if Huddersfield match their valuation.
Reds boss Davies is believed to be keen to revitalise his front-line with new signings. Former Arsenal starlet Jay Simpson is a potential target.
And while, with the continued financial backing of Nigel Doughty, the club do not need to sell before they can buy, with six strikers currently on the books, Davies could be tempted to make room for new additions if the right offer for Garner comes in.

“I think we should offload mcgugan he is over rated and has a terrible attitude, also adebola he wouldn't look out of place in the NBA but in a forest shirt he is shocking. I'm glad perch has gone he was terrible, we are carrying league one players, those above plus mcgoldrick, lynch, and even Tyson I regret saying this because he will always be well thought of because of the flag waving lol but come on he can run that's all so I think he has got to go. With these players leaving and 5 quality players coming in we should be a force next season, I think boro will be champions with the players they bought in but that can change if we get busy in the Market. I have confidence in billy he is a winner and wouldn't stand for players out and none in, remember to sign a player there's alot involved and can take days, I'm sure things Are happening and expect to hear by Monday someone has signed!!!”

“it's obvious that Goldie and Adebola are not everyone's favourite players. However, Adebola came from a good side in Bristol City where he was playing regularly and was their Player of the Year. McGoldrick came from a decent side in Southampton where he scored 14 goals (again, playing regularly). Some players take longer to settle in than others, these are not bad players. The impression I get is that McGoldrick is highly thought of by fellow pros, as was James Perch. These players are not always easy on the eye; and i must say that I've been a little disappointed with Goldie so far, but they ARE good players. How much time they are given is another question!
Like most others on here I am getting very impatient for some news. Pity the staff at NEP having to fill the back page with non-stories like this everyday! U Reds!!!”

“I agree Will Scarlett, Garner can't go whereas Adebola is no use to us. Although it does onnly say huddersfield are considering buying joe. And this is the NEP post this might not be 100% true. Some very good points Friar Tuck and we should take advantage of the Cardiff tax bill situation.”

“Hi there all my fellow trickies how are you all ?
As regard to the post of Huddersfield trying to capture our Joe Garner the terrier's manager Mr Clark must be a really switched on kinda guy because i think Garner will do a realy good job on leading their front line next season.
Dont get me wrong here though i am a big admirer of Joe and have been since his Carlisle days in my eyes he's got a good if still a little raw base in his play he's agile quite pacey and he likes to mix it up a little which defenders dont like and thats not all he has a real eye for goal as was demonstrated at southampton two seasons ago when he scored 'that' 40 yard lob..brilliant.
I think it will be a great mistake to let joe go because he still should be a important squad member and if played in his proper position as an out and out striker who knows he may bag 15 or more goals for us. If any strikers are to be shown the exit im in favour or letting McGoldrick and Adebola leave and also let Tyson go if the rumour about him is true and Reading want him back please feel free as he has been really dissapointing in the last few seasons all run and no end product.
With regards to some earlier posts from us on here Joe Ledley was mentioned moving from Cardiff to Celtic for free and with some strange law about players moving north of the border Cardiff couldnt get no cash for him and i was told they were hoping to get at least 3 million fof him which surely is a big kick in the balls for them in their situation as the tax man looms over them like a sweaty sock under clear nostrils.
This situation Cardiff find themselves in could be really good news for us if the rumours are true and we want Whittingham surely Cardiff will have to look closely at any bid now as money is much needed at the welsh outfit.
I know things are slow at the moment and i for one am getting slightly frustrated at no movement on the transfer scene but i get the feeling things are actually happening and the big names will arrive soon doesent anyone else feel the same way ??
Any club doesent allow players to keep leaving without replacements and as mentioned before i get the feeling we are having a clear out making room for better players coming in so keep the faith people we are in for a good ride this season again trust in king Billy.”
