Tasty donation to children's charity
NOTTS charity When You Wish Upon A Star has been handed £10,000 after an enraged passenger ate a winning airline scratch card then stormed off the flight.
Ryanair made the donation after half of the 40,000 people who voted in an online poll said a children's charity should receive the unclaimed prize.
The man – onboard a flight from Krakow on February 25 – flipped when he was told large cash prizes were not paid out on flights and instead had to be claimed directly from Brand Force, the airline's scratch card partner.
Passengers also voted a mental health charity (8,000 votes) should get the money, while 6,000 said an eating disorder charity deserved it. Fourth on the list was an anger management charity (4,400) and fifth a gamblers' charity (1,600).
Charity spokeswoman Hayley Davies said: "This £10,000 donation will help make the dreams of so many ill children become a reality."
