TV skater Mark Hanretty recovering after 'live' fall on Dancing on Ice

A NOTTINGHAM skater is recovering at home after dislocating his shoulder during Dancing on Ice.

Mark Hanretty, one of the professional skaters on the show, tripped after colliding with partner Baroness Oona King.

He fell heavily and dislocated his shoulder.

Sunday's live show was brought to a standstill while medics treated him.

Despite his injury, Mark skated out to perform his final routine with Oona, complete with overhead lifts and impressive tricks.

But his heroic efforts were not enough to save the Baroness from elimination after she skated against Welsh Rugby legend Gareth Thomas, who is one of the strongest contestants in this year's line-up.

Mark, of Kirkby-in-Ashfield, is now at home with his wife Kathy awaiting the birth of their first baby, which was due yesterday.
