IN CONTROL: Clough
Alan O'Hare could once again be struggling with his ankle injury, which would leave caretaker boss Adie Moses to partner Gavin Hurren in the middle of the Mansfield defence.
Moses' fellow temporary manager Mark Stallard, though, is still struggling with a back problem, which means he is likely to continue directing operations from the sidelines.
Burton's Tony James suffered a clash of heads against Lewes and could be out of contention.
Darren Stride is definitely out after undergoing keyhole surgery on a long-standing knee injury.
Nigel Clough The former Forest player, who has been with the Brewers for ten years, has guided them to a commanding lead at the top of the Blue Square Premier League and is being touted in some quarters as a possible successor to Colin Calderwood as the next manager at the City Ground.
Greg Pearson The former Hucknall player has enjoyed a prolific season so far, netting 15 goals in 24 league games to earn a reputation as one of the most lethal strikers in the Blue Square Premier.
John McGrath An intelligent, ball-playing midfielder, the former Aston Villa trainee helps things tick for Burton. Also has an eye for goal, as he proved in netting the only goal of the game when these two sides met at the Pirelli Stadium in October.
