SPECSAVERS staff in Nottingham have raised more than £1,000 for Treetops Hospice.

Staff based at the NG2 Business Park raised £1,064 for the Risley Hospice, which provides palliative care for people with life-limiting illnesses.

They raised the money by tackling tasks that ranged from pumpkin carving to trekking up Mount Kilimanjaro.

Louise Fieldhouse, communications manager at Specsavers, said: "We're really pleased to have raised so much money for Treetops Hospice.

"It's such a fantastic charity and we hope the money will go a long way in helping them to achieve their goal of offering the best possible care to those using their services."

Alex Ward, corporate fundraiser at Treetops, said: "We're very grateful to Specsavers for the kind donation.

"The money will be used to enable Treetops to provide care to hundreds of families who are living with a terminal illness."
