DIVISION A leaders Radcliffe-on-Trent turned in an impressive performance at Regatta Way to end Gedling and Sherwood's mini-revival.

The game was quite even up to the midway point of Gedling's innings, with Samrat Sharma (55) taking advantage of some wayward bowling.

However, this all changed once Frankie Brown was introduced to the attack. The left-arm spinner, playing his first game of the season since his return from Cambridge University, showed his team-mates what they have been missing with 4-26.

Gedling went from 84-1 to 146 all out with only Paul MacMillan threatening as Eddie Torr (2-36) and Rob Sutton (2-7) wrapped up the tail.

There was early hope for Gedling when overseas star Marc Ellison was trapped leg before, but Sutton (74*), Mark Noblet (27) and Brown (33*) ensured a comfortable success.

Rivals Notts Unity Casuals defeated form team Belvoir (187) by 14 runs. Wasim Rana (63), Gurpej Landa (61), Kafeel Shafiique (3-31) and Usman Mussafer (3-50) showed up well.

Darren Bicknell top scored with 38 for the losers before he was again run out.

Long Eaton crashed to a heavy defeat at Balderton. Brett Scothern (93) just missed out on a third century as Long Eaton posted 198.

But this total proved little of a hurdle as Tim Clipsham rattled up a brilliant 116. Aided by skipper Alan Jackson (38) and Dominic Wiffin (35*), the winners passed the score with just one wicket down.

Southwell (199) are enjoying their best season since their return to A in 2007, however, with a bit more consistency they would be up there fighting for the title.

Visitors Eastwood racked up 222 with Neil Gregory (45*) and keeper Steven Leese (42) the chief contributors. Steve Wright toiled away in the heat and was rewarded with six victims.

Tim Green (71) was the mainstay of Southwell's reply but with wickets falling at vital times, the last two overs were blocked out for a losing draw.

Gedling Colliery have slipped down the table in recent weeks so the victory over fellow-strugglers Calverton was crucial.

Jeff (49) and Graham Burton (46) fell just short of 50s as a target of 200 was set for victory.

Calverton never looked close to achieving this, falling to 88 all out with Jeff Burton, Dan Mather and Michael Bailey all claiming three wickets.

Hyson Green continue to march relentlessly to the B title and it's going to take a very good side to stop them. The left-arm spin pairing of Kaisar Altaf (5-23) and Taufseer Shah (3-25) dismissed Kimberley II for 115. Then Suhail Ahmed (47*) and Sageer Akhtar (41*) took advantage of a struggling attack to knock the runs off in just 19 overs.

Gotham recovered from their setback last week to comfortably dispose of winless Keyworth who must turn things round immediately to avoid a second successive relegation.

Gotham posted 287 thanks in the main to Alex Haworth (44), Kevin Perrell (38) and Brad Moore (34).

Keyworth finished 81 runs shy with Steve Haworth and Tom Chamberlain taking four and three wickets respectively.

Clifton Village II were on the end of a another weekend visit from Switzerland-based Pallav Patel. The talented Loughborough player scored his second century in two games. But the real fireworks occurred when Mark Trimmingham went from 50 to 100 in just 15 balls.

Carillon's final score of 277 was way too many for Clifton who just held on at 146-9 with Andy Harland claiming a second successive five-wicket haul.

Rolls Royce extracted sweet revenge on Hucknall with a 92-run thrashing and they should not be ruled out of the promotion picture.

For once, Rolls' batting fired with Rahim Karim (51), Gordon Pearson (45*) and Arslan Shah (42) setting up a total of 232.

Jason Gorman then got to work, removing star man Robin Maxwell cheaply, ending with five wickets as the losers slipped to 140. Hucknall remain one place above the drop zone.

There was a thriller at Ellerslie where visitors Newstead Village recorded 192. In reply, Husnain Riaz added 48 to his four wickets, while skipper Ananthan Sivayoganathan fired 36. However, with two runs required for victory, Guy Fletcher caught Alan Harrison to move the winners further clear of the relegation zone.

In C, there were comfortable wins for West Bridgfordians and Kirkby Portland.

Hickling could only muster 116 at home to West Bridgford, who then had Jason Koriya (57*) and Jon Sheard (43) reaching the target without losing a wicket.

Bramcote are in deep trouble, making only 105 at home to Kirkby Porltand, who had Tom Newcombe (3-9) and Jonathan Williamson (3-17) among the wickets.

There is hope, though, for Attenborough II who posted 192 thanks in the main to a first score of the season for David Harris. Arjun Singh, last years leading wicket taker in D, finally got started with three wickets as Wollaton fell to 102 all out.

Gedling Colliery II are 25 points clear at the top of D after disposing of a disappointing Thurgarton outfit.

The losers made only 142 and Gedling looked to be on the way to a comfortable victory in the hands of Rhys Hayes (47) and Danny O'Brien (47).

However, four wickets for Mick Sewell meant a few nervy moments for the table-toppers who eventually came home with four wickets intact.

Fiskerton looked well-placed for a decent total on 120-3.

But Risley's Paul Addison took five wickets in five overs as the visitors slumped to 154.

The game was always in the balance and eventually it was left to 14-year-old George Just (31*) to guide his team home on the penultimate delivery with one wicket remaining.

The highest individual score of the day came at Wilsons where home batsman Amir Shazhad struck a 131 littered with boundaries. Nuthall came up well short on 130, chasing 248.
