SOUTH Nottingham College's Football Performance Programme (FPP) managed by Joe Sargison, in association with Nottingham Forest, has increased its programme for 2008/9 to four teams following a massive increase in demand for places.

Following the success of the programme last season, there have been many notable achievements.

Marcus Marshall, from Bestwood, graduated from the FPP at the beginning of last season to join Blackburn Rovers at Youth Academy level.

In the space of ten months he was handed a one-year professional contract and made his first team debut in the Carling Cup.

Following this success, 17-year-old Shannon Grant has left the FPP for a six-week extended trial period with Blackburn following a trial match where the youngster impressed with a hat-trick.

In addition, Karim Ibrahim and Alex Haughton have both played trial matches for Forest at Manchester United.

Ten players from last season's first team all received four-year soccer scholarships at universities across the US. Lee Rutter (West Bridgford) is at Appalachian State University in North Carolina; James Burke (Bestwood) at Limestone University, South Carolina; Mike McGlaughlin (West Bridgford) in Ohio; Danny James (West Bridgford) in Iowa; Jordan Leeming (Sandiacre) Santa Barbara California; Ady Osborne (Carlton) at Anderson University South Carolina and Jack Reid (Ruddington), Aaron Weldon (Arnold), Adam Gray (Cotgrave) and Max Pembleton (West Bridgford) all play at Belmont University North Carolina.
