TEN years after opening the venue, Simply Red have announced they'll be returning to the Trent FM Arena on Thursday December 9.

It's part of a farewell tour, which marks the groups 25th anniversary.

"I could never have imagined my career would bring me so far," says Mick Hucknall.

"We want to share this closing anniversary with all the people who have enjoyed our sound throughout the years. Celebrate it and gently move on to the second half of a musical story. We all hope to see you at a show somewhere soon."

The tour will first visit Sherwood Pines Forest Park on Friday June 18.

A new album, Songs of Love will be released later this year.

Tickets are £37.50 and £42.50 (plus booking fee) from the venue, by calling 08444 124 624 and on-line at www.trentfmarena.com

Simply Red were the first group to play the venue in April 2000.

“I would have bid farewell to them in April 2000 if i had gone to the Arena. A "fabricated" group with only Hucknall at the forefront. Go on. Name another member of Simply Red.It's an impossible question, because nobody can.!”
