CHARLIE Shreck gave Notts a flying start against Somerset in their table-topping clash at Trent Bridge – dismissing visiting skipper Justin Langer with the first ball of the game.

He trapped the Australian lbw from over the wicket with a delivery that just swung back a touch.

Notts made two changes to the side who drew at Sussex, with Andre Adams coming in for Paul Franks and Graeme Swann replacing Rob Ferley.

Alex Hales fielded for Swann in the early stages while the spinner returned from Cardiff after being surplus to requirements with the England one-day squad.

Notts: Jefferson, Shafayat, Wagh, Prince, Wood, Read, Swann Ealham, Adams, Pattinson, Shreck.

Somerset: Langer, Trescothick, de Bruyn, Hildreth, Durston, Blackwell, Kieswetter, Trego, Thomas, Caddick, Willoughby.
