Shoppers' big chance to get their nails done by Myleene
IF you're in the Victoria Centre this weekend you might find yourself being treated to a manicure by Myleene Klass.
The pop star, classical musician and TV presenter will be in Boots from 2.30pm tomorrow to launch her new nail wrap design Myleene Klass Nails.
Myleene said: "I like to lead by example so I'll be putting the nails on – in the past I've often ended up doing a few manicures for people.
"It's good to get out there, rather than just have them sold on my behalf; it's good to meet the people who are buying them and get some feedback. You've got to put yourself out there in the middle of it all.
"I'm really looking forward to it; Nottingham is a really friendly city."
The nail wrap designs offer an alternative to nail polish and instead of just being the "celebrity face" behind them, Myleene has been involved in creating the product from the start.
She said: "I was in the car on the way to an awards ceremony and I'd just painted my nails. I was waiting for them to dry and thinking 'there has to be an easier way'.
"So I approached my management company about creating a new kind of nail wrap."
The singer worked alongside a scientist in order to create the wraps, which use a special adhesive that doesn't need heat in order to stick.
Myleene said: "I had different nails on every finger for about two months and then I'd ring the guy back up and give him feedback on whether they stuck, whether they were too hard to get off or whether they were easy to get on."
The wraps come in 24 designs and can be used on both fingers and toes.
Myleene insists they're easier to use than polish as you can do them on the run.
"I do them in the car, the studio or even in bed. Hand on my heart I do them myself; yesterday I did them in the studio toilets – not very glamorous, but there you go," said Myleene.
"The black and white polka dots are my favourite at the moment because they go with a lot of outfits."
