NOTTS County made five personnel changes from their league draw at Bournemouth for their Johnstone's Paint Trophy first round tie at Sheffield Wednesday.

The Magpies also switched from a 4-5-1 formation to 4-4-2.

Goalkeeper Rob Burch returned for the League Two champions against his former club, after recovering from a broken toe he suffered in the first game of the season. He replaced Stuart Nelson, who was rested.

Liam Chilvers was named in the heart of the back-four in place of another former Owls player, Graeme Lee.

On-loan Birmingham City pair Luke Hubbins and Jake Jervis both also started at Hillsborough. Hubbins was named on the right side of a four-man midfield, and Jervis partnered Kevin Smith, who was also given a start after scoring at Bournemouth., in attack.

Paul Heffernan, who played for Notts the last time the two teams met at Hillsborough almost seven years ago, was named on Wednesday's substitutes' bench.

Former Republic of Ireland international striker Clinton Morrison started in attack, alongside Marcus Tudgay.
