NOTTS County are staging a 'Legends Day' at Meadow Lane on Sunday as they continue their 150th anniversary celebrations.

And one of the oldest living heroes in their history, 85-year-old Jackie Sewell, will be out on the pitch to kick off a special game between former players of the club.

The Magpies' all-time leading scorer Les Bradd has organised the big event.

The legendary 137-goal striker will not be playing, but the likes of promotion-winning captain Phil Turner, Ian Richardson, Craig Short, Michael Johnson, Tommy Johnson, Gary Lund and Ian McParland are all set to play.

And Bradd hopes some ex-players still playing for other clubs, like Mike Edwards, John Thompson and Shaun Derry will also play.

The two teams will be managed by former Magpies' bosses Billy Dearden and Mick Walker.

"There have been a series of events throughout the year to celebrate our anniversary and this is going to be another special occasion," said Bradd.

"So many players wanted to come back and play, which shows what the clubs means to them.

"I'm really looking forward to it and I hope the fans get down to Meadow Lane to see some of their heroes."

The game will kick off at 2pm and before that fans will be able to meet all the legends and the current first-team squad at an autograph signing session in the 1862 Suite from 12pm.

A special film called 'Notts County: The Movie', which charts the club's history, will be screened after the game.

Tickets for the entire day are £5 and are on sale now from the Meadow Lane ticket office on 0115 9557 210.

Every adult who books in advance will be entered into a draw and two lucky winners will play in the legends match, with younger supporters given the opportunity to be part of a guard of honour to welcome the players on to the pitch.
