“Bohemian Waxwings are a common winter bird in Alberta. I'd only been in Canada a couple of weeks when I saw flocks of these birds sitting in the snow-covered trees in Edmonton, making a lot of noise. Being more used to sparrows, robins, thrushes and pigeons in Nottingham, I thought these birds, with their colourful crests which reminded me of parrots, were very exotic.”
