Sam Allardyce not in running for job of Forest manager
FORMER Notts County boss Sam Allardyce is not in the running to take over as manager of Nottingham Forest, if Colin Calderwood is replaced in the near future.
It had been speculated that Allardyce, who has been out of work since his ill-fated spell at the helm of Newcastle United, would be interested in a job at the City Ground.

Sam Allardyce
But he is believed to be holding out for a new post in the Premiership.
While Forest themselves would be reticent to appoint a man whose scientific – albeit highly successful – approach has a direct style of play that goes against their footballing ethos.
It is also believed Forest would have concerns over the size of backroom staff Allardyce traditionally likes to bring with him to clubs.

“Oh dear Nick, another Forest fan not getting his facts right before speaking. A quick check and you will find we are the biggest spenders in the transfer market so far this season in the Championship”

“He would say that just to save his own face.
I am not sure how you can call 4.4 mil on 3 players a big amount.
Of course nobody else paid out more than us. They did not need to or are in money trouble and cannot.
Atleast he admits Lennon and Cole were disasters. That is true.
I look forward to January and to see what money is on the table and what talent they bring in.
Once all the loan signings go back we are going to be thread bare. More than we are now”

“Nick, Lincs
Get your facts right. ND has made money available to CC. £2.65m for Earnshaw, Garner £1.1m & @ £650k for Moussi is a total of £4.4m. The largest budget spent in the Championship during the close season. There was more available, & that is still available; CC chose not to use it during the pre-season. What you are saying is simply not true. Clingan & Commons left because they were out of contract & could get the same wages but additional big fat signing on fees from Derby & Norwich respectively. We replaced them with the equally talented palyers (depending upon your opinion) in Moussi & Anderson (albeit on season loan). I bumped into Mark Arthur recently (Jet garage @ Bingham), he was friendly & chatted football; he confirmed that money has always been available for further transfers & will be in January. He also said that the Neil Lennon & Andy Cole signings by CC were complete disasters! He (Arthur) expects us to stay up, but then again he would say that.”
