SOUTHAMPTON manager Mark Wotte appealed for the club to get their financial future secured as soon as possible so they can start to prepare for League One.

There are now thought to be two bidders competing for control of the club. And the manager hopes a deal can be struck to secure the future of the cash-strapped Saints sooner, rather than later.

"We want things to be sorted as soon as possible," he said. "If you don't know your budget, then you can't build your squad.

"You don't know whether you can keep players or not, never mind sign them.

"But, saying that, we will not be able to pay the players with the bigger wages in League One.

"Marak Saganowski will leave, Jason Euell is out of contract, as is Bradley Wright-Phillips. Wayne Thomas is still a Southampton player for now, but those wages are going to be too expensive."
