NOTTSmotorcyclist Kyle Ryde has kicked off his MRO Superteens 125 and 80cc Championship season at Brands Hatch.

The 12-year-old from Jacksdale claimed pole position in his class (80cc).

The first race saw him finish second in the 80cc class and fifth overall against the 125c bikes. But in his second, he suffered engine problems.

The following day saw him record another runners-up spot in his class, seventh overall before finishing third in the final race of the event.

His next race is at Darley Moor, near Ashbourne, on March 21.

There will be a fundraising event on Saturday at the Jacksdale Social Club to raise funds to help Ryde's career.
