“Travelling from Goose Fair twin islands up to Forest Road East junction during heavy rain dark Autumn / Winter evening with heavy traffic . The vehicle head
lights from traffic travelling towards the islands, glaringly obscures road markings . Thats an accident waiting to happen.”

“Toryman maybe you should read the headline "Council's 'sorry' for rush-hour traffic chaos in Nottingham" all about the tram which was the main issue on nottingham boulevard. Plus the radio/television/internet all provided live information about the over running of tram work, so no it wasnt a dramatic exsumption on the majority of notts part, it was the general reason to how bad the traffic was in that area, the accidents just added to it.”

“You'd think a local media outfit would actually investigate something like this rather than just printing half the story wouldn't you. I believe it's called journalism.”

“Nottingham is a reflection of its council - an utter bloody shambles!
A piecemeal approach to the tram works would've been better than blitzing everywhere at the same time. It's brought Nottingham to a near standstill.”

“I think it's time you stepped down Cllr Jon Collins.
Our once great city seems to deteriorating on a large scale and only getting worse.
Do the decent thing and resign!!
We've all had enough of incompetent fools!!!”

“I'm no great fan of the tram, but did no one notice that it was raining cats and dogs all of last night (Tuesday/Wednesday)? It was reported in today's news that 44mm of rain in all came down over the region overnight; that's a month's worth of the wet stuff in 12 hours!
I suggest that everyone who's having a moan here, takes a quick look at the rising level of the Trent over the next couple of days to get an indication of just how much rain actually came down in the region.
Given that the weather conditions were atrocious, I'm not surprised that the contractors had difficulties with their overnight activities.
So.....have a little sympathy, please, for the gangs of workmen working overnight on this project whether you agree with the tram or not!”

“I not sure why some people are blaming the tram works - the problems at the Dunkirk flyover were due to an accident that could clearly be seen.”

“Jasper - I presume that was tongue in cheek.
I wouldn't be surprised if the City Council had told the contractors that a works overrun, closing one of the few routes into Nottingham at rush hour, is no big deal, and it's preferable to stop thousands of people getting to work than to delay the tram project by a few hours.”

“@jasperthedog
Contrary to the many tens of bus routes available, the Beeston tram tends to avoid residential areas. It's mainly a student and park and ride job.”
