“why is bonfire night allowed to happen still ? As a nation we are being taxed to the hilt for 'anti-pollution' measures, they are introducing the carbon tax yet we still think its ok to burn anything we can get our hands on just because its November 5th.
This is a tradition we could all live without, what exactly are we celebrating on this evening ? and is it worth celebrating ?I doubt it.

personally i couldn't care less about the pollution casued by bonfires and fireworks but it just makes me laugh when you see people go on about how they recycle everything but then burn £100 worth of fireworks.”

“I drove past at 6PM on Friday night and it was well and truely lit!! A fire engine was there and the firefighter were struggling too extinguish the blaze. it had reached probably the height of 3 double deckers. Its a shame as we go every year and there always is a great atmosphere. Does anyone know if the firework display is still going ahead?”

Its a shame as I was looking forward to the event next weekend”
