THIS year the annual Wilford Rotary Fireworks takes place tomorrow, November 5, at the Nottingham Moderns Rugby Ground, in Wilford Village.

Trent Bridge Rotary Club are preparing for their biggest firework party to date. Standby for a stunning display of impressive fireworks from the locally renowned pyrotechnic team from Crescendo Fireworks responsible for the dazzling displays at Highfields Lakeside, celebrating Chinese New Year.

To ensure a display better than anything you will see locally, Rotary have greatly increased this year's fireworks budget.

And, in addition to this, Lookers Honda has also made a substantial further sponsorship towards the fireworks – and not just one, but two displays.

Rotary event chairman Roger Steel goes on to say, "I am really excited, not only have we doubled our previous budget, but we are holding prices for a fourth consecutive year, with tickets bought in advance from the internet, or local shops in Wilford, Meadows and West Bridgford, offering very good discounts for early purchases.

"Our family ticket remains a firm favourite, with plenty to keep the children enthralled.

"Indeed, this year there will be two firework displays – a children's fantasy fireworks, and our special Guy Fawkes Celebration Fireworks, at 8pm, so don't be late – it's too good to miss."

Ample sign-posted parking will be available off Wilford Lane, West Bridgeford, as well as the Victoria Embankment, Nottingham (with access over the Wilford Toll Bridge direct to the event) More details are available on the website.

The nominated charities this year will be When You Wish Upon a Star, making dreams come true for children with life threatening illnesses, and Headway, the brain injury association, both enthusiastically supported by Trent Bridge Rotary Club. "Let's hope we raise lots of money for these very worthy causes, and you are able join us on this special night," added Mr Steel. "Our gates open at 5.30pm. Don't be late – it's too good to miss."
