Review: Ceri Dupree: The Ladies I Love, Nottingham Arts Theatre, by Philip Berry
WHAT a wonderful night of entertainment, with constant laughs and dazzling costumes.
But Ceri Dupree's The Ladies I Love, billed as "a celebration of the world's most fabulous females", isn't for the faint hearted.
In fact, this stream of on-the-edge hilarity sometimes goes a little over the line, so even the heard hearted should tread carefully.
Between the banter are the classic songs, each performed in character, including Tina Turner's Private Dancer and Cher's The Shoop Shoop Song (It's In His Kiss), followed by Dolly Parton, Eartha Kitt and Shirley Bassey.
And as the evening went on the costumes seemed to become even more extravagant.
A night of fabulous fun with some of the world's greatest divas. Well worth the ticket price.
Runs until Saturday, performances at 7.30pm, with a 3pm matinee on Saturday. For tickets call 0115 947 6096 or go to www.nottingham-theatre.co.uk
