BILLY Ocean is the biggest selling black recording star in Britain with thirty million album sales worldwide as well.

He started his career back in

the Seventies and although he now has dignified grey dreadlocks, he still delivers in droves. His voice is as smooth and immaculate as ever.

He has a well stocked back catalogue and he kicked off with Love Really Hurts Without You and then came the smooth moves of Mystery Lady.

His new album Live Forever has spawned the beautifully acoustic Question. The Colour Of Love kept the audience in mellow mood, only to be moved up a notch with Red Light Spells Danger. Other rocking numbers were Loverboy, Love Zone, Love Really Hurts and the funked up Get Outta My Dreams.

With a tight band and superb backing singers, he threw a couple of surprises in The Long And Winding Road and Up Where We Belong.

Sad Songs and Suddenly reflected his serious side and the rousing theme from Jewel On The Nile,When The Going Gets Tough ,went down a storm.

The Grammy-winning Caribbean Queen was a brilliant finale in a show that proved that Billy Ocean is both a true star and a gentleman indeed, marvellous fare for a Goose Fair night.

“The wife and I caught his show in Ipswich and thought it was absolutely brilliant. Credit the staff and management at the Ipswich Regent Theatre with some common sense for allowing the crowd to advance to the front of the auditorium and dance the night away. All in all, it was a very intimate and upbeat experience with one of the true legends of 1980s and beyond!”

“Well i cannot agree with the first review! There was a 50 min. wait between the support act (why) and the audience began to slow hand clap after 30 mins. The response was to turn the back ground taped music up! We were seated in the first tier and the mixing was atrocious, yes the band was tight but their sound overwhelmed Billy O. All we could hear were the top notes and certainly none of his
talk to the audience with any clarity. the show was full of unfulfilled promises possibly not the fault of Billy O. Listening to his CD in the car on the way home it was a case of what might have been.”
