Reverend grateful for student labour
STAFF and students from Castle College have helped repair walls at St Helen's Church Hall in Trowell.
Bricklaying lecturers Andrew Cardy and David Jukes were asked by the Rev Paul Whitehead to lend a hand.
Mr Whitehead said: "The old walls were a health and safety risk and the students have done a very good job."
Student Lee Burgess, 19, of Bulwell, said: "I've enjoyed repointing the wall and the experience of working outdoors."
Caine Bower, 21, of Beeston, said: "I've enjoyed doing something that will be permanent and helping the community."
The main wall will eventually be used by the church hall's nursery for a play area and will be painted with a mural of animals.
