Redwood tops the magic ton
THREE figures were again needed to win the weekly Costcutter at the Janson Fishery.
Ray Redwood caught a fish within seconds of the whistle and went on to take 136-5 to the scales.
Dave Holland again fished well to take second with 78-3, while Steve Davis was third with 46-15 peg 10.
Aubrey Houghton, John Upton, Shane Wilcox and Gerry Woodcock took section wins.
Although every competitor caught in the KOBRA Open on Lake Two at Dynamite Makins the match was again dominated by the high numbers on the 'A' bank.
Alan Neil (Tackle Shack) again drew peg A15, landing seven carp on bomb and corn for 47-12.
John Talbot, on peg A20, landed five carp weighing 32-14. He included a 13-4 carp, alternating bread and corn on the bomb.
Fred Coxon was third with 20-6 from peg A13, which consisted of three carp on bomb and corn.
Neil made it a double top the following day on Lizard. He caught three carp in the final hour on bomb and corn for 31-12 from peg 16. Steve Richards (peg 27) had five carp on bomb and corn, plus silvers and several big perch on pole and caster for 30-2.
Phil Hull (Lanes Bait & Tackle) took third place with 22lb, four carp and silvers, on long pole at peg 12.
Dean Barlow. son of Nottingham legend Frank, has been included in the England team for the 2012 World Feeder Championships in Ghent, on July 7-8. Phil Ringer joins brother Steve in the squad, in place of Steve Hemingray.
