REJUVENATED Robbie Savage says he feels like a teenager again as he plays his part in helping Derby County climb the table.

Recalled by new boss Nigel Clough, he is playing a pivotal role in the centre of midfield and helped Derby beat Forest 3-1 on Saturday.

And the veteran midfielder is delighted with the unity in the camp that has been created by the manager.

He said: "I feel 19 again and it is a pleasure to play with these guys. I am thoroughly enjoying it, we are well balanced and a team that works hard for each other.

"Steve Davies comes in and makes three crunching tackles in the second half and that gets us going.

"It is not just about the 11, it is about the 16.

''You do not know if you are playing until a hour before kick-off. You feel part of it and you know what is required of you.

"You do not feel left out whether you are playing or not and that is what is keeping us strong. We are three up and he (Clough) wants four or five and it is great to be talking like that away from home."

Lewin Nyatanga suffered double vision after scoring the opening goal against Forest.

But the young defender was crystal clear in his assessment of his side's performance.

He said: "I got that injury and tried to stay on but I was suffering from a bit of double vision.

" I thought it was best to come off. When I went back on I did not want to come off but I was not feeling that great but we got the positive result, which is all that matters.

"It was a great start and it was a great team performance. We got a great start in the second half as well.

"When we came in the FA Cup, they did that to us but we showed great fighting spirit to get back in the game and we knew we could not let them do that again," he added.
