NEARLY 100 Nottingham University Samworth Academy year 7 pupils are working on a community project that to help improve Bilborough for its residents while boosting their own literacy and numeracy skills.

Three classes have devised their own survey to quiz family and neighbours to find out what people would like to see improved in Bilborough.

The responses will be analysed and then used to develop presentations and compose letters, e-mails and texts to organisations that can help sort issues out.

Nottingham City Council and the University of Nottingham have been working in collaboration with academy colleagues to inspire ideas of ownership of the community.
