HERE COMES THE BOOM (12A): A mild-mannered biology teacher lays his body on the line for his students in Frank Coraci's comedy. Scott Voss (Kevin James) teaches science at Wilkinson High School, which is weathering severe budget cutbacks in the faces of falling grades. The school's music programme, run by Marty (Henry Winkler), is under threat, which would mean terminating the beloved teacher's contract. Scott resolves to raise the $48,000 shortfall by taking on extra jobs. Niko (Bas Rutten), a student at a citizenship class which Scott teaches, introduces him to the world of mixed martial arts fighting. Scott finds the perfect way to save the programme from closure, presuming his 42-year-old body doesn't crumble under kicks and punches.

The only escape seems to be for Jamie and his pals to have sex.

Sam (Chris Pine) and girlfriend Hannah (Olivia Wilde) muddle through life in New York, where he is under investigation by the Federal Trade Commission. As the pressure intensifies, Sam learns that his estranged father, record producer Jerry (Dean Chekvala) has died from cancer. He refuses to attend the funeral in Los Angeles but Hannah insists that they go. The reunion between Sam and his mother Lillian (Michelle Pfeiffer) is tense and the situation deteriorates when Sam inherits nothing more than his father's old shaving kit. Inside, Sam discovers $150,000 and instructions to deliver the money to a Josh Davis...
