Protest against council cuts
DOZENS of people are expected to gather outside Nottingham's Council House this lunchtime to protest against planned cuts.
The council's budget is set to be agreed at a full meeting today.
-

The protest has been organised by Unison in response to Nottingham City Council's plans to cut adult social care services.
The council needs to save £18m this year, and proposals include closing the Riverside Residential Home in Bulwell, introducing a £2 charge for all day centre users and increasing charges for transport and meals.
Among those who will be at the protest are users of the Acorn Resource Centre in Hyson Green.
Felicity Swift, 60, has cerebral palsy and has been using the centre since 1977.
She said: "I feel it's closure by the back door. If they can get people to stop coming by putting the charges up, then they will have a reason to close it."

“Who ever Tyler Durden was supporting the old people in wheelchairs and getting kicked out of the council building for protesting was a legend.”

“"lawful British National Party..."
Oh goodness, Malc, your party's been forced by the courts to change its constitution and make it look vaguely like it isn't fascist.
When we all see the reality beneath.”

“No, Mr Sensible, I think 'Malc' was referring to this...
" Nick Griffin¿s junket to North America last month fell flat following the last-minute cancellation of the American Renaissance conference at which he was to have been a keynote speaker.
The American Renaissance conference is a central event in the calendar of any self-respecting white nationalist, neo-nazi, Klansman or Holocaust denier and its cancellation will be a big blow.
He was at Griffin¿s side during the MSU event as Griffin¿s speech degenerated into little more than a heated argument between him and his audience. The Michigan Messenger, the student newspaper, reported that during his ¿Q and A¿ with the audience, ¿Griffin called protesters stupid, accused them of being bused in from Detroit, and of being lesbians. He also told protesters he would ¿shove¿ homosexuals back in the closet and ¿kill them.¿¿”

“"Labours cuts good. Tory cuts bad."
That's a distortion of my position.
I have been critical of this budget; as I say, we should scrap the stadium, but it is still better than the County Council's one.
And Malc you just cannot help yourself can you.
Are you referring to the journalist of a centre-right newspaper who was unserimoniously booted out of the BNP meeting?”

“Getting rid of none jobs at the Councils again, long overdue another good outcome will be not so many left wing unison thugs at our BNP meetings, we will be able to have our meeting without the fear of unison yobbos outside. Cut the council about 50% , that how many are normally on sick or of work with stress ( work shy)”

“Whilst I prefer this budget to the county one, as I have said before I just wish the City Council would scrap the ludicrous stadium idea, which is going to cost the taxpayer £200 million.”
