Private security boss prosecuted for allowing security guards without licences
THE chief executive of a Notts private security firm is the first to be prosecuted in England by the Security Industry Authority for allowing unlicensed employees to work as security guards.
James Turner, 48, chief executive of Stealth Security, allowed one employee to work as a security guard at Bestwood Lodge Hotel and another to work at Erewash Indoor Bowling Club for more than a month – despite both men having no licence to work in the security industry.

Turner, of Woodchurch Road, Arnold, pleaded guilty to 24 charges of deploying unlicensed operatives and one of failing to provide information to the Security Industry Authority (SIA), which regulates the private security industry, at a hearing at Nottingham Magistrates' Court.
Stealth Security provides security guards, dog handlers and mobile patrols to companies across the county.
SIA investigator John Montague said: "The investigation into Stealth's security provision has already led to the prosecution of several of Turner's employees who were found working unlicensed so we are pleased that he has been convicted of the more serious crime of supplying unlicensed operatives.
"The court clearly recognised the importance of an SIA licence in helping to maintain public safety. By deploying unlicensed operatives, Turner put the public at risk and showed blatant disregard for the law."
Turner was sentenced to a 12-month community punishment order, with 40 hours of unpaid work, and was ordered to pay costs of £1,000.
Matthew Kelly, an employee of Turner, admitted six charges of working without a licence at hearing at Nottingham Magistrates' Court in June. Kelly, 56, of Highbury Vale, Bulwell, worked as a security guard at Bestwood Lodge Hotel in Bestwood Country Park between October 20 and November 22 last year.
He was sentenced to a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay costs of £100.
Another Stealth employee, Mark Fairfield, 45, pleaded guilty in September to working without a security licence.
Fairfield worked as a security guard at Erewash Indoor Bowling club between September 22 and November 12 last year. He will be sentenced later this month.
Stealth Security was unavailable for comment.

“its so very strange and sad. but glad to see that he been prosecuted at last. but most sad thing is that whn sm1 from us do smthing wrong, we try to cover it. why? becoz its one of us. how so very sad. can't find proper words to describe mentality of such ppl these days really. sick in head. david cameron cuts all these benefits, why? becoz of 'deficit'. whats deficit? the debt country liable to pay back. how the country's economy is flowing? by playing our part properly n honestly towards paying tax to govt. is every 1 is doing this fairly according to law, if yes, then why we facing these terrible cuts n deficit? because actually the answer to the above question is 'NO'. there are many sick, cheap n small minded ppl out there who never bother to play their part properly towards paying tax to govt. and actually becoz of such terrible ppl's unacceptable deeds, at the end of the day, we all have to suffer and we all have to pay the price for some one's sin. mr. james turner is exactly one of those ppl who never bothered to pay tax to govt. on behalf of most of his employees which is you can actually see how serious price we all have to pay now and still ppl like james turner can escape if no proper action will be taken against him and other such poisonous snakes hiding in the grass out there. according to an undercover sourse, james turner was commiting another serious offence for years n years by paying 'less thn minimum wage' to its employees. how bad it is. turner is in business twenty years now but we dont want to point out him becoz he is one of us. let me tell to mr. cameron that firstly you need to finish corrupt ppl like james turner, if you can't do much, atleast do smthing about the one you know; and thn take away benefits from hundreds n thousands of needy and genuine ppl who totally deserve these benefits. i am one of you. if i can totally oppose ppl like james turner n other such ppl who cheat govt. n cz of whom the whole country is suffering so badly n each n every one of us has to pay the huge price, so why don't you? whats the obstacle? what are you waiting for? more disaster? whn you wd have no roof on your heads? ppl who deals with such frauds must open their eyes wide open ryt now, before its too late. sooner the better. our this foolish habit of not to point out over own ppl while they doing terribly wrong will take this country to disaster and darkness. which is already hapenning. how many ppl are jobless today? how many correptions are out there today bcz of poverty? excuse me mr. cameron, the reality is that most rich ppl here are not contributing equally and not standing together in ur 'reducing deficit plan'. uk's future doesn't look bright. GOD BLESS UK.”

“Without Predjudice.
I feel that i must give a few words of support regarding this whole fiasco,
All the years i have known James Turner, both as a customer, and freind, i have always had the highest regards for his most proffesional conduct in all the feilds of his work,
As an employer, and administrator, and his honnesty is above reproach.
"let him that is without sin cast the first stone" when you compare this toall the other crap thats going on in nottingham, this is fiddling while rome burns, all this red tape(jobs for the boys) like the health and safety nazis funded by council tax payers, makes evryone pull in opposite directions, when we could be together, this guy has been well and truly stuffed.
my sorrow goes out to him.”

“My responsibilities and running of stealth security; Firstly I would like to apologise to the two customers that my company let down by providing two unlicensed guards. I would also like to apologise to all my SIA licensed staff, the security industry and the SIA. At no time did stealth deliberately supply unlicensed security staff with intent. A human error led to the two guards licensees being over looked as this was because it took over 8months for the SIA to process there application. Both persons are well known to stealth and at no time was the public or customers put at risk. Both guards received their badges 2weeks after the SIA visit. I am not going to blame my staff for making a mistake and that includes the person who is no longer in my employment, whome was paid to make sure this should never happen. I have read all the emails on the Evening Post website and sent directly to me. I accept full responsibility but was asked in court by the judge 'WHY is Mr Turner here today and not the person responsible..?' On a closing note, the people that sent emails to the post website signing themselves as Mick Brentnall, my late father-in-law who died suddenly last year, was totally out of order and more hurtful than anything the Courts could do. Have you never made a mistake?”

“I'm 99% sure that the post from Andy is JT himself, I know how he writes and know what he can't spell and the punctuation and grammer all point to him too. It's been a while since I dealt with him but all the signs are there for anyone who knows to see. He'll say it isn't him, but he knows the truth while lying on here and a leopard never changes his spots... Remember the anger management course Jimmy? You came back worse and threw the microwave out... think back I'm sure you will remember.... you bought food for all the office staff to say sorry.

They are my thoughts exactly about people not leaving there name? But then again, there are people pretending to be others! Even dead members of JTs family! Thats just how low these ex employees are! So they are not forced to put the name when they can hide behind the dead... There are some sick twisted people out there that just love to cause trouble,i dont think they know what just what they are doing and making themselves look complete idiots. I think Stealth should be greatfull that these employees are 'ex' -You carnt build a honest business with deceatfull employees that are the enemy it would seem. Im sure JT is having a good old laugh about it all, after all he is having the last laugh... People state hes this n that n the other, but hes still here and hes still going strong, not bad for such a crook n con hey? haha... makes me laugh, get some back bone ex employees and leave ya real name. I dare you! Stop hiding behind the dead (RIP Mick Brentnall) and trying to name drop others... People get brave on here but would they do it to JTs face? No, i dont think so,they would just get laughed at. Small minded paracites, thats all they are. I say good for you JT,dont rise to it! All the best! Andy, Nottingham”

And I am sure the SIA will be interested to find out he finds it so funny. You keep laughing Jim, but I can assure you you wont be having the last laugh and believe me, you wont be laughing longest. It may not be now or next week but in the near future the walls will come tumbleing down forever. The powers that be are on to you now... Can you keep things above board forever...? I don't think so, infact your probably up to your old games as we speak... Just remember... nothing lasts forever. Enjoy what you have while it lasts, cover your tracks well cos you never know who is watching.”
