Primary school bids for academy status
A STAPLEFORD primary school looks set to become an academy.
Notts County Council is due to meet on Wednesday to sign off the lease which will allow Fairfield Primary School, in Toton Lane, to become a self-governing academy.
Academies receive funding from central government and can set their own curriculum.
It means that Notts County Council will have no involvement in the running of the school.
