Power cut hits Mapperley as first snow falls over Nottingham
At 6:40pm, as the first snowfall descended over Nottingham on Sunday evening, a power cut in the Mapperley area plunged houses and streets into darkness.
The power was off for three hours as households struggled to find torches & candles.
Single parent Mrs June Gaskell of Warton Avenue said "My eight year old daughter Angelina was in the bath and the lights went out, she was frightened for a while.
"When I looked out of my bedroom window everything was in total darkness, and all I could see was the snowflakes coming down.
