AN MP has welcomed a decision that means drivers can still apply for driving licences at the post office.

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency has awarded the Post Office a seven-year contract to provide its services at branches.

The move, announced by Transport Secretary Patrick McLoughlin, will also see DVLA-related services offered at post offices expanded to include those currently only offered through DVLA offices directly.

Erewash MP Jessica Lee said the announcement was "great news".
