NOTTS residents should take the opportunity to give their verdict on the county council's budget proposals.
Yesterday's approval of the plans signals the start of the public consultation.
This is a cost-cutting budget. The Conservatives claim to have faced up to the increasing costs of adult social care and children's services. But they are also offering an expensive council tax freeze.

“Hey folks ! People of Notts asked for this to happen. You voted for the Tory's tempted by a Council Tax freeze. Hey presto ! Council Tax is frozen and your services are slashed to the bone to to compensate. Didn't see that one coming. I have a friend who works for the County Council and she says it's a joke. Backroom staff have been cut to a bare minimum over the last 3 years so there's nothing left to cut. Reducing what few Mangers are left will just mean poorer services, less control over activities, more stress and more sickness. The County Council have already been criticised by Ofsted for lack of management supervison. Good Luck !! I am glad I don't work there.”
