Darel Russell will be missing from the Portsmouth squad for the visit of Notts County.

The midfielder's month-to-month contract was due to expire after the game but he has confirmed he has already become the latest player to leave Fratton Park.

He said via Twitter: "4 those that want 2 see the back of me ur wishes have come true.

"4 those who have showed me support thank u + appreciate those comments. I have enjoyed playing for Portsmouth and wish things were different."

Caretaker boss Guy Whittingham, who lost half of his first team earlier this month as the club continue to cut costs, could hand on-loan youngster Frankie Sutherland a full debut in Russell's place.

Sutherland came on as a substitute as one of seven debutants as Pompey crashed 3-1 to bottom side Hartlepool on Saturday, their 15th game without a win.

Defender Sam Sodje, an unused sub at the weekend, could make his first appearance against the side he left in May.

Teenager Fabian Spiess will keep his place in goal for Notts County.

The 18-year-old rookie keeper will get his chance after number one Bartosz Bialkowski suffered a bad head injury during the 2-1 defeat at Leyton Orient on Saturday.

The Pole was carried off on a stretcher after only 10 minutes following a collision with O's striker Charlie MacDonald and was taken to a London hospital in an ambulance.

Spiess, with a string of super saves in only his second game for the club, went on to produce a man-of-the-match performance at Brisbane Road and will now make his full debut for the Magpies on Tuesday night.

Elsewhere, forward Francois Zoko is available again after serving a two-match suspension.

“A must-win game for us ... with no natural striker in our very thin squad, hopefully Zoko and Arquin will get their early season form back. Good to hear Bartman is now able to remember more about last Saturday's game ... good luck for a speedy recovery and good luck too to teenage replacement Fabien Speiss who did so well when he came on.”
