Pool tournament in memory of stabbed Sherwood teenager

A POOL tournament is honouring murdered Sherwood teenager Jason Spencer.

The 17-year-old was a keen pool player at Riley's snooker and pool club in St James's Street, Nottingham.

He was stabbed in March 2007.

Reuben Valentine, 17, pleaded guilty to his murder and was jailed for a minimum of 16 years.

The Jason Spencer Memorial Trophy at Riley's today, offers a top prize is £50, the trophy, a year's free pool, plus a special mystery gift.

Second prize is six months' free pool.

Entry to the competition costs £4 for adults and £2 for under 18s and students.

Player registrations will be taken at 12 to 12.30pm and matches are due to begin at 1pm.
