Police praised for not arresting kids
ARRESTS of girls by police have fallen by 41 per cent in Notts in three years, new figures have revealed.
Notts officers made 857 arrests of girls aged 17 or younger during 2011 – compared with 1,104 in 2010, 1,262 in 2009 and 1,453 in 2008.

The figures were obtained by the Howard League for Penal Reform, which has launched a campaign aimed at keeping children out of the criminal justice system.
Chief executive Frances Crook said: "A significant fall in the number of children entering the justice system is good news for everyone striving to reduce crime."

“Or is it that there are less police making less arrests? Or are the kids getting wiser and harder to catch?”
