Poem: Utter Chaos
We all once lived in a nation of pride,
We had open Government, with nothing to hide.
Rules were obeyed, and punishments were swift.
Happiness was widespread, and love was a gift.
Old people were treated kindly, and all were respected,
With compassion and care, which they all expected.
Children were taught to be seen and not heard,
Never answered back, or said a wrong word.
Shops would serve you, with a greeting or smile,
Never tried to rush you, let you browse for a while.
Policemen you could see regular, walking on their beat;
Cause any trouble, and expect their boot up your seat.
But those times have changed, and lost in the past,
This country's in a mess, and it's going to last.
We've seen bankers' greed, corruption, and job loss,
I'm afraid this country is in utter chaos.
