COLIN Gunn was involved in an armed plot to escape a top security prison in a helicopter, according to a new book.

Gunn was lined up by American David Bieber – jailed for murdering a police officer – to flee Frankland Prison in Durham with him.

The desperate scheme is revealed in a new book Hoods, by local author Carl Fellstrom.

The book is the result of a five-year investigation into Gunn's so-called Bestwood Cartel and other organised gangs.

Hoods also claims:

Gunn tipped off police about rival drug or cigarette smugglers to eliminate competition

He made an impostor complete his community service after being found guilty of assault

Police have yet to capture the county's 'Mr Big' – a millionaire businessman one step ahead of the law

The family of murdered John and Joan Stirland are suing Notts Police for failing in their duty of care towards the couple.

“Well, an interesting little debate being conducted by the feral social underclass that marks out Britain as the scum of Europe. Rerthpect Innit. All tracksuits, cheap gold and £2k Jags. I have no sympathy for the Stirlands. The press have painted them as innocents, as it is convenient, but they were as bad as their son and had full knowledge of his criminal ways. They are no loss to society, and it is ironic that a crime syndicate fell like a house of cards because some two bit criminal ordered the execution of another two bit criminal's complicit parents and the investigation was actually centred initially on police failures which then unearthed bent coppers as a bonus. Had the old dragon not been bigging herself up whilst wobbling her bingo wings in Gala, chances are she would not have got slotted. What is evident though is that both the Gunns and the jailed donut maker bad boy have parents supportive of, and complicit in their criminal careers. Note, that like all hovel dwellers, they never accept any responsibility for creating the monsters they have and their criminal murderous ways. Lots of people have been hurt, shot, beaten, maimed, berieved, jailed etc and the only innocents in this whole sorry saga are the Bates family - who by the way have not ordered an execution party to kill those behind it, although who could blame them if they did? The Gunns are now banged up with a large number of psycho's and dangerous lunatics in the County's worst nick. In there are others who "ran" sink estates, and who are also so accomplished that they now share a landing with Al Queda terrorists who are not scared of them one bit. I'd give anything to be jailer at that nick for a day.

So, hovel dwellers, you carry on your cheerleading and sharing your fond memories, and hoping for the return of the good old days, because the little monsters who are now turning upon you and robbing, stealing and beating you all aspire to be just like your good old mates, the Gunns. You should be helping these fine young men, not complaining about them. You reap what you sow, and please, next time you tuck your kids into bed, imagine them with a gunshot wound, or sat by their hosptial bed in intensive care, or crying at their graveside, because unless you set an example, then your kids will look to others to set an example, and if they look to the likes of the Gunns, then you stand a good chance of outliving your own offspring.

    Sleep safely”

“Don't people believe some strange things? The sad thing is they then pass on the "facts" to other people. C.B. Bulwell tries to make a case for the legalising of drugs by saying that Coca Cola put drugs in their drink hundreds of years ago? Where did you get that one from C.B. ?They didn't start selling Coca Cola until 1886.”

“The game never ends, does it!! Escaping in a helicopter. Was he gonna land it in the prison yard? Tell me this, was he gonna help Dave Martin from Top Valley? Martin and his mate, Hogan were gonna make a few million from the casino job they were gonna pull off at Gala. How much would Colin get?
Now that Colins inside, there will be more people then ever making money and paying the Gunns nothing. Hey Colin, when your released in your seventies, you can go and work for the brutal psycho clan, the Normans. I personally know the Normans, same ages as me. Now they either inside, out of the game or scraping a living selling 10 bags! What a clan of misfits!!”
